Yorkshire Children of Courage call for nominations for the 2015 Awards
Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards (YCCA) official Nominations Roadshow got off to a flying start as the Nominations Box made an appearance at the Moortown branch of Manning Stainton.
Leading Yorkshire based Estate Agency chain Manning Stainton are the 2105 Roadshow partners and will be hosting the box at several of their offices over the forthcoming weeks. The idea is for people to find out more about the Awards and to nominate children and young adults deserving of recognition for their bravery, courage and contribution to their communities.
Launching the Roadshow, Helen Oldham, Managing Director of Yorkshire Post Newspapers said: “The children honoured at the Awards often have really challenging lives and their stories are a source of inspiration to our readers. This is the third year that we have supported the event as Media Partner and each year it has grown and is really positive for the County and the future of Yorkshire Children of Courage”.
Assisting Helen with cutting the ribbon on the box was Hazel Latner, Sales Negotiator at the Beeston branch of Manning Stainton, and recently crowned Miss Leeds. Hazel commented: “This is a great way for me to get involved with a local charity that benefits children’s lives and makes a difference to them. I’m really happy to help and contribute!”
Next stop for the Nominations Roadshow tour is the Harrogate branch on 14th July, where media commentator and Yorkshire business woman Kate Hardcastle will be on hand. On 27th July the box travels to the Wakefield branch where event Ambassadors the evergreen Chuckle Brothers will close the nominations for 2015. People wishing to register and nominate have until Wednesday 29th July to submit at www.yorkshirechildren.co.uk
The 2015 star studded YCCA ceremony and dinner will take place on 16th October at New Dock Hall, Leeds, compered by BBC Breakfast Business Journalist and programme co-host, Steph McGovern. Tickets are on sale via the website. The 2014 event raised in excess of £100,000 of funds for The St. James’s Place Foundation for redistribution to local communities via grant application.
