Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards are delighted to be working in partnership with Child Friendly Leeds for our 2015 event.  We thought we would share with you their news about their own awards:

“The child friendly Leeds awards are now in their third year, and this year we hope to make them bigger and better than ever. The awards are a great opportunity to reward people doing extraordinary things to make Leeds the best place for children and young people to grow up in. They are also a wonderful opportunity for celebrating some of the best places in Leeds for children and young people.

The 2015 awards winners included a young girl who fundraises for Crohn’s and Colitis UK Society, a campaigner for young people with complex needs, a volunteer with a local accessibility group, a sporting foundation that delivers projects within local communities,  and, finally, a residential centre for children and young people of all abilities.

Similar to previous year’s awards, the City Varieties event will be planned, organised and run entirely by young people, providing them with a great opportunity to get involved in a city wide, high profile event.  Last year’s event was a great success with around 550 nominations received.

For more information about child friendly Leeds, and the 12 wishes for Leeds made by children and young people, go to the child friendly Leeds website at www.leeds.gov.uk/childfriendlyleeds or follow us on Twitter @child_leeds or on Facebook.”
